Hitkari Home
Identity for home goods and interiors retailer.
During a slight break in our production schedule, we decided to stretch our creative wings on a popular crowdsourcing site and found the proposal for Hitkari Home. The company is based primarily in India and sells home furnishings, pillows, dining sets and the like...a Crate and Barrel of India if you will.

From the descriptive brief and the pictures that were provided, we were given a fairly straightforward path to follow in terms of what the client desired. But, we had another thought.

Instead of the combination of a sans serif font with a strictly geometric logo being emblazoned upon everything from saucers to dinner napkins, we provided them with a geometrically based logo with a hand drawn inset graphic that mimics the henna patterned hands of joyous Indian brides during their sacred wedding ceremonies.

This would not only have an incredible amount of cultural relevance and recognition; but it would also create a sense of exotic luxury that is missing from the mid-tier home goods market.
